Understanding Share View: Saturation's "Share View" offers a unique way to collaborate on budgets. This feature allows you to create sub-budgets or specific views of your main budget and share them with your collaborators. Whether you want to give access to a specific department, like art or camera, or present the top sheet to an executive producer, Share View has you covered.

Why Use Share View? With Share View, you don’t have to overlap information or keep multiple versions of a budget. Everything remains in one place, streamlining collaboration. Whether you're working with different departments or presenting to stakeholders, Share View ensures everyone sees exactly what they need to, and nothing they don’t.

A Practical Example: Collaborating with the Art Department

Imagine you're a producer for a new film. For security reasons and to maintain the integrity of your overall budget, you wouldn't share the entire budget with individual departments. With the "Share View" feature, you can give the Art Department access only to their budget without exposing the financial details of other departments.

Configuring Your Shared View:

  1. Name: Label your view for easy reference.

  2. Categories & Accounts: Handpick specific budget categories you wish to share.

  3. Phases: Opt to share budgets pertaining to certain project phases.

  4. Columns: Customize which columns from the categories and accounts to share.

  5. Top Sheet Columns: Decide on the top sheet columns you'd like to display.

After setting up your view, navigate to the "Share" tab and invite your collaborators.

Collaborator Role Types:

Assign roles to collaborators to define their access:

  1. Viewer: They can only view the shared budget. (Free)

  2. Commenter: They can view and leave comments. (Free)

  3. Editor: They can make edits. (Billable)

  4. Admin & Owner: These roles come with advanced permissions. (Billable)

Notifications and Communication: When there's activity in the shared view, such as comments or edits, the primary user will get an email notification. This ensures you're always updated on your project's progress.

Duration and Revoking Access: Share View's accessibility is indefinite. However, if you need to limit or revoke access, you can:

  1. Delete the shared view.

  2. Remove a specific user from that view.

Security and Peace of Mind: Worried about data privacy? With Saturation, collaborators will only see the content shared with them. You can even preview their view, making sure they access only the intended parts.

Integration with Saturation Features: Share View isn’t a standalone feature; it's integrated with all of Saturation’s features. So, collaborators with "Editor" access or higher can harness the full power of their budget view.

To Share Your Custom View:

  1. Navigate to your budget.

  2. Choose "Share"

  3. Once set up, share via email or generate a URL.

  4. Users can preview shared files directly, but to comment, an account is required.

In Conclusion:

Share View revolutionizes collaboration in Saturation, ensuring efficient and clear communication among team members and stakeholders.
