Introduction

Exporting your budget or actuals as a PDF in Saturation allows you to create professional and presentable documents for sharing with clients or team members. This guide will walk you through the process of exporting your data as a PDF, along with the available customization options.

Step 1: Accessing the Export Menu

On the top right of the interface, click on the "Import/Export" button. A drop-down menu will appear, showing the "Export as PDF" option. Click on it to open the export settings window.

Step 2: Customize the Export

In the export settings window, you have multiple customization options:

  1. Budget or Actuals: Choose whether you want to export the budget or the actuals.

  2. Header Customization: The header has three sections, which can be customized independently:

    • Top: Use this section for naming your export.

    • Left: Fill out your company/project details, and upload an image, such as your company logo, for custom branding.

    • Right: Fill out client details, if applicable, and upload an image, such as the client's logo, for custom branding. You can format the text within these boxes, such as bolding, changing font size, or adjusting paragraph alignment. Save your header settings as a workspace preset for faster future exports.

  3. Column and Account Configuration: Show or hide Top Sheet/Summary columns and Account columns using the provided drop-down options.

  4. Exclude Accounts Totaling Zero: Enable this option to remove line items with a total of zero from the export, saving space.

  5. Include All Accounts: Choose which tables to show. For example, if you want to export only the Top Sheet, disable this option and select "Only export Top Sheet."

  6. Notes: Enable the Notes section to display custom notes at the bottom of the Top Sheet.

Step 3: Download the PDF

Once you've finished configuring your export settings, click on the "Download" button in the top left corner of the export settings window to export your budget or actuals as a PDF.

Additional Export Options

Apart from exporting as a PDF, Saturation also offers the ability to export your budget or actuals as a CSV file.

Conclusion

Exporting your budget or actuals as a PDF in Saturation is a straightforward process that offers a range of customization options to create professional and presentable documents. With the ability to add images such as company and client logos in the header sections, you can enhance the branding of your exports. Although Saturation currently limits exports to either budget or actuals, the team is working on developing an export option that includes both budget and actuals data, as well as phase information.
