Saturation allows you to connect your bank accounts and credit cards to streamline the process of actualizing transactions. This feature uses Plaid, a secure financial services platform, to import your transactions automatically.

Why connect your accounts?

  • Save time by automating transaction imports

  • Reduce manual data entry errors

  • Keep your budget up-to-date in real-time

  • Easily categorize and assign transactions to projects

How to connect an account:

1. Navigate to Transactions

  • Open your Saturation workspace

  • Click on "Transactions" in the left sidebar

2. Access Sources

  • In the Transactions page, locate the "All Sources" dropdown

  • Click to open the sources list

3. Connect a new account

  • Click the "Connect Account" button

  • A new window will open with Plaid's secure interface

4. Select your financial institution

  • Search for or select your bank or credit card provider

  • Follow the prompts to securely log in to your account

  • Some institutions may require additional verification steps

5. Authorize the connection

  • Review and accept the terms to allow Saturation to access your transaction data

  • Wait for the connection to be established (this usually takes a few moments)

After connecting:

  • Your transactions will begin populating in Saturation automatically

  • You can now select which projects these transactions belong to for actualizing

Managing connected sources:

To manage your connected accounts:

  1. Go to the Transactions page

  2. Open the "All Sources" dropdown

  3. Hover over a connected source

  4. Click the three dots (...) menu for more options

In this menu, you can:

  • Add the source to all projects or limit it to specific ones

  • Reconnect the source if the connection is interrupted

  • Disconnect the source if you no longer want to import its transactions

Tips for using connected accounts:

  • Assign transactions to projects promptly to maintain accurate budgets

  • Once you assign a transaction to a project, it will be removed from other project views to prevent duplicate entries

  • Regularly check your connected accounts to ensure they're still syncing properly

  • Use the transaction filters and search to quickly find specific entries

Troubleshooting:

If you encounter issues with your connected accounts:

  • Try reconnecting the source through the manage sources menu

  • Ensure you're using the most up-to-date login credentials for your financial institution

  • Check if your bank is experiencing any known issues with third-party connections

  • Contact Saturation support if problems persist

Security note:

Saturation uses Plaid, a trusted financial services platform, to securely connect your accounts. Your bank login credentials are never stored by Saturation, ensuring the highest level of security for your financial data.

Remember: As new transactions occur in your connected accounts, they will automatically populate in Saturation, keeping your financial data current and your budgeting process smooth.
