Manage members from the workspace level (Saturation 3.0)

The Members page on the workspace level shows current members, pending invitations, workspace roles, and project access in one panel.

Access scopes and roles

Access has two parts: the scope controls what the person can open, and the role controls what they can do there. The choices available depend on your own permissions and workspace configuration.

Scope

What it grants

Workspace

Access across the workspace, limited by the selected role.

Project

Access to selected projects without full workspace access.

View

Access only to the specific shared view or views.

Role

Typical use

Owner

Workspace ownership and the highest level of administration.

Admin

Workspace and member administration, subject to owner-only safeguards.

Accountant

Accounting and financial workflows within the assigned scope.

Editor

Create and edit project content within the assigned scope.

Commenter

View and comment without general editing access.

Viewer

Read-only access to the assigned scope.

Roles and scopes can affect paid seats. Review the access preview before sending an invitation and confirm the result in workspace Billing; seat treatment can vary by plan.

Open Members

  1. Open workspace Settings.

  2. Select Members.

  3. Search by name or email, or filter by role. Pending invitations appear in a separate section.

The member list updates as invitations are accepted, canceled, or resent.

Invite a member

  1. Select Invite member.

  2. Enter the person's email address.

  3. Choose the workspace or project scope and the available role.

  4. Review the selected scope and role, then select Send. If an invitation email fails, use Retry or resend it from the pending invitation row. Canceling an invitation invalidates its link.

Invitation troubleshooting

  • Bounced or missing email: confirm the address, check spam, then Retry or Resend.

  • Expired or canceled link: resend the active invitation or create a new one.

  • Wrong email address: cancel the invitation and invite the corrected address.

  • Existing account: accept while signed in with the same email address that received the invitation.

  • Unexpected role or scope: review the invitation preview before sending, then edit access after acceptance if needed.

What happens when access is removed?

  • Removing a project assignment is different from removing workspace membership.

  • Content the person previously created is not automatically deleted when their access is removed.

  • Public or shared links are managed separately. Revoke any links that should no longer work.

  • For sensitive removals, verify the affected account after refresh and review workspace activity.

Edit or remove access

Open a member's access controls to change their workspace role or project assignments by clicking the three dots on the right of the member.

The roles and actions available to you are limited by your own access.

A project-scoped member can receive access to selected projects without becoming a workspace member.

Review member activity

The Members table shows each member’s Latest activity and account Status when available. An Active status does not by itself show that the person has a live session. Use the activity date as context when reviewing access.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after someone accepts an invitation?

The pending invitation becomes an active member with the scope and role selected in the invitation. The inviter may also receive an email confirming that the person joined.

What should I do if the invitation email does not arrive?

Confirm the exact email address and ask the recipient to check spam. Use Retry after a failed delivery or Resend from the pending invitation row. If delivery still fails, cancel the invitation and create a new one after confirming the address.

What is the difference between Retry, Resend, and Cancel?

  • Retry attempts delivery again after a failed invitation.

  • Resend sends the invitation again while keeping it active.

  • Cancel invalidates the outstanding invitation link.

What if the invitation link is expired, canceled, or opened with the wrong account?

Resend an active invitation or create a new invitation if the old one was canceled. The recipient must accept while signed in with the invited email address; if prompted, switch accounts or choose Use a different email.

Can I change someone's role after they join?

Yes, if your role permits member management. Open the member's access controls, choose the new workspace or project access and role, and save the change.

Can I remove someone from a project without removing them from the workspace?

Yes, when project-specific access controls are available. Removing one project assignment does not remove workspace membership or access to other assigned projects.

Can I share only one project view instead of the entire project?

Yes. Invite from the project to grant access to all project views, or invite from a specific view to scope access to that view. Sharing another view with the same person adds it to their permitted views.

Why can't I remove a workspace Owner?

A workspace cannot be left without an Owner. Make another eligible member an Owner first, confirm that they can access the workspace, then change or remove the original Owner's access. If the owner controls you need are unavailable, contact Saturation Support.

Does removing access sign the person out immediately?

The Members page does not confirm immediate termination of an already-open session. For a security-sensitive removal, remove the access, ask the affected account to refresh or sign out, and verify the result from that account. Contact Saturation Support if access remains. Do not use the member's Active status as proof of a live session.
