What Notes are for
Use Notes to keep instructions, assumptions, approvals, vendor requirements, and other context with the budget row they belong to. Notes can be added to account or line-item rows, to the top sheet, and to Project Info.
Notes for an account or line item
Open the project Budget.
Make sure the Notes column is visible. If it is hidden, use the table or column settings to show it.
Click the Notes cell on the account or line-item row you want to document. If the row offers Add Notes, you can use that shortcut.
Type the note in the editor.
Press Tab or click outside the editor to save the change.
Add a note field to a phase
Open the project Budget.
Go to the Columns icon and click Add phase or column on the level desired.
Choose a phase, title for the column, and use Text for the Type.
Project Info notes
Use Project Info notes for project-wide context that should not be attached to one account or line item—for example, production assumptions, client instructions, delivery requirements, or key contacts.
Open the project and go to Project Info.
Open the Notes or project-notes field.
Enter or update the project-wide note.
Press Tab or click outside the editor to save.
Project Info notes are separate from budget-row and top-sheet notes.
