Open the export menu
Open the project and select Budget.
Set the view, account scope, filters, columns, and phases you want represented in the export.
Select Export in the upper-right corner of the budget.
The menu includes CSV, Excel, JSON, PDF, and Template. The options available to you depend on your project access and your workspace plan.
Export a scoped budget
When the budget is scoped to one or more accounts, CSV and Excel exports contain the rows in that scope. The export keeps the account hierarchy: summary rows appear first, followed by the account rows and their descendants with indentation. If you use Hide empty rows, a tag or fringe filter, or hide phases, the CSV and Excel files reflect those settings.
The scope applies to the budget view, not to the underlying budget. Clearing the scope in the view restores the full budget on screen and in the next CSV or Excel export.
Choose an export format
CSV
Choose CSV for a flat file that you can open in spreadsheet software or import into another system. The file includes the budget columns, totals for the visible phases, and a Grand Total row.
Excel
Choose Excel for a workbook with a Top Sheet and separate sheets for expandable accounts. Child rows are indented below their account, and the Top Sheet includes totals for the visible phases. The workbook also carries budget data used by the project, including fringes, fringe groups, globals, and tags.
JSON
Choose JSON to preserve structured project data for a tool or a later import. The file can include phases, budget lines and values, globals, custom units, fringes, currencies, tags, live GL mappings, incentives, credits, and the project's primary PDF report design. JSON export waits for GL mappings to load; if they are still loading, try again after the budget finishes loading.
Choose PDF to open the report editor. Configure the report there, then export the finished report from the editor.
Download the file
Select a format from the Export menu. Saturation builds the file and downloads it using the project budget name. Large budgets can take a moment to prepare.
Notes
CSV and Excel follow the current account scope and grid filters. JSON preserves structured budget data and is not a visual copy of the grid.
The exported grand total reflects the budget footer.
Export permissions are checked when you select an option. If an option is unavailable, ask a workspace administrator to confirm your access or plan.
