Rate packs (Saturation 3.0)

Enable shared rate libraries for your workspace, create custom packs, and apply rates while building a budget.

What is a rate pack?

A rate pack is a collection of rates that your team can search while budgeting. Saturation Next includes a catalog of published packs. Members with permission to manage workspace settings can also create custom packs.

Rate-pack availability is managed for the workspace. Any pack enabled by the workspace appears in each project's Library and in the budget rate search.

Browse and enable rate packs

  1. Open Projects from the workspace navigation.

  2. Select Library in the Projects toolbar.

  3. Select Rates.

  4. Use Search or Filter to find a pack. Filters include All, Enabled, Disabled, and pack categories.

  5. Select a pack to review its rates.

  6. Turn on the pack's enable switch to make its rates available to the workspace.

You need permission to manage workspace settings to enable or disable packs. Other members can view the packs that the workspace has enabled.

View rate packs from a project

  1. Open the project budget.

  2. Select Library in the budget toolbar.

  3. Select Rates.

  4. Select a pack to view its rates.

The project Library shows the packs enabled by the workspace. Pack contents are read-only in the project view. A member with permission to manage workspace settings can select Rate packs, then Manage rate packs, to change workspace availability.

Create a custom rate pack

Members with permission to manage workspace settings can create packs for company or production-specific rates.

  1. Open the workspace Library from the Projects or Workspace page.

  2. Select Rates, then select Add.

  3. Open the new custom pack.

  4. Select Add to enter a rate, or use the import button to choose Import CSV or Import XLSX.

  5. If importing a file, confirm whether its first row contains column headers, map the source columns, review the preview, then select Import [number] rows.

You can also drag a CSV or XLSX file onto an editable custom pack. Only custom packs created in your workspace can be edited, renamed, or deleted.

Search and update a custom pack

Open a custom pack from the workspace Library to:

  • Search the rates in that pack.

  • Add, edit, or delete rate rows.

  • Rename the pack by selecting the pencil beside its name.

  • Import more rates from a CSV or XLSX file.

Changes to enabled custom packs become available in the budget rate search after the workspace data updates.

Apply a rate to a budget line

Saturation fills the rate in each estimate phase where the line does not already have a rate. It also fills the unit when that field is empty. The quantity comes from the rate pack when one is provided; otherwise, Saturation enters 1.

Existing rate and unit values are not overwritten.
